Making new year’s resolutions doesn’t work for me, personally or professionally. But here’s what does. On January 17, 2018, in the first Therapy Matters to you, I declared that “JOY” was my word-for-the-year. This was the first time I had done this with any level of determination and consistency.
School’s here. I have no clue where summer went. It’s always the fastest time of the year. Following is a helpful suggestion of something I’ve done in almost every school I’ve ever worked at. It’s simple, constructive, and I enjoy doing it.
If doing therapy was all you had to do, you’d be fine; but meetings and paperwork complicates things--especially at the end of the year.
Have you ever heard an SLP exclaim: “Please! I love preparing for and going to meetings! Sign me up for more meetings!” Nope, me neither.
